Septic Installation in Bulverde, TX

Bulverde has grown quickly, and nearly all of it relies on septic. We install systems for new homes, for builders, and for older ranch houses whose original systems have reached the end of their service life.

Live Oaks, Rocky Ground and Steady Growth

Bulverde and the surrounding area, from Smithson Valley to the SH 46 corridor and south toward US 281, is a mix of acreage, ranch land and new subdivisions. Most of it lies outside any sewer service. The ground is typical of the Hill Country: thin soil, abundant rock and mature live oaks that owners want to protect.

Those oaks are an important consideration on a septic project. Drainfields and drip lines cannot pass through a root zone without harming the tree, and roots will eventually reach a line placed too close. We lay out each field according to the approved design and work carefully around the trees, as with the drip field shown here beneath a canopy of oaks.

Design and Permits for Bulverde Properties

Bulverde is in Comal County, where the Environmental Health office reviews septic designs, issues permits and inspects each installation. Texas requires the site evaluation to be performed by a licensed site evaluator and the design to be prepared by a registered sanitarian or professional engineer. We work closely with an engineer we have a great relationship with and will put you in contact with them through our septic design and engineer referral service. The engineer handles the evaluation and design and guides you through the process. If you already have a design, we can price and install from it. We then install the system under our TCEQ OSSF installer license OS0031132, coordinate the county inspections and finish the site. Some subdivisions also have deed restrictions on where a septic field may be placed, so it is worth reviewing yours. The permit guide describes the county process.

Planning a pool? Let us know before the septic design is drawn. Pools, septic fields and required setbacks all compete for the same back yard space.
