Septic Installation in Kendall County, TX
Kendall County is largely rural, and nearly every home outside town relies on a septic system. We install those systems and can put you in contact with an engineer we trust for the site evaluation and design.
Ranch Land, Acreage and Growing Communities
Kendall County stretches from the Boerne area out through Comfort and the rolling ranch country beyond. Much of it is open land, family ranches and homes on generous tracts, with newer developments filling in closer to I-10 and Boerne. Outside the sewer service of its towns, the county runs on septic.
The land is Hill Country through and through. Soil is often thin, limestone is close to the surface, and many homesites sit on slopes or ridges. Creeks and the Guadalupe River add setbacks that a design has to respect. Every lot is different, which is why every system starts with a proper site evaluation.

Septic Systems for Kendall County Properties
- Aerobic treatment systems, the usual answer where soil is shallow
- Drip fields that follow the slope and keep the yard free of spray heads
- Conventional systems where the soil is deep enough to allow them
- Replacements for older ranch homes with failing systems
- Commercial systems for businesses and larger facilities outside sewer service
Kendall County Septic Permits
Kendall County issues septic permits for unincorporated areas through its office at 400 E. Blanco Road in Boerne. The process begins with a site and soil evaluation, followed by a design that the county reviews and approves before installation begins. The county then inspects the system before it goes into service. Aerobic systems require a maintenance contract and a recorded affidavit. Properties inside a city should check with that city first about sewer service.
Texas requires the site evaluation to be performed by a licensed site evaluator and the design to be prepared by a registered sanitarian or professional engineer. We work closely with an engineer we have a great relationship with and will put you in contact with them through our septic design and engineer referral service. The engineer handles the evaluation and design and guides you through the process. If you already have a design, we can price and install from it. We then install the system under our TCEQ OSSF installer license OS0031132, coordinate the county inspections and finish the site.
Distance and Access
Rural Kendall County sites can be a long way from the nearest paved road. Before we start, we plan how equipment and tanks will reach the homesite, where excavated rock will go and how to protect ranch roads, gates and fences. When a site needs clearing, a pad or a driveway, we handle that too through our excavation and site work service.

Boerne and the Surrounding Area
Boerne is the county seat and the center of most new construction in the county. Our Boerne septic page covers that area in more detail. We also serve properties in neighboring Comal County, including Spring Branch, where some lots on the western edge fall within Kendall County.
Family Owned Since 1995
Peter Varhol founded the company in 1995, and his sons Dennis and Mike Varhol run it today. They are lifelong Hill Country residents and visit each property themselves. For a sense of pricing before you call, see our septic cost guide.
