Septic Installation in Spring Branch, TX

Spring Branch offers some of the finest building sites in the Hill Country, along with some of the most difficult excavation. Our crews and equipment are well suited to exactly this kind of septic project.

Equipped for Limestone

Between US 281, FM 311 and the Guadalupe River, Spring Branch lots are typically wooded, sloped and set directly on limestone. Some sites have very little soil at all. The septic system must still be installed at the depth and grade the design requires, which means removing rock with a hydraulic hammer.

This is slow, demanding work, and it is where inexperienced contractors most often exceed their budgets. We have done it since 1995, we own our own hydraulic hammer, and we will tell you before work begins if we expect significant rock on your lot.

Common Septic Systems in Spring Branch

With soil this thin, most systems in Spring Branch are aerobic treatment systems. On sloped lots, drip fields are well suited because the lines can follow the contour. On flatter tracts with deeper soil, a conventional system may be permitted. The site evaluation and design determine the right system for your lot. Texas requires that work to be done by a licensed site evaluator and a registered sanitarian or professional engineer, so we put you in contact with an engineer we have a great relationship with through our septic design and engineer referral service. The engineer handles the evaluation and design and guides you through the process. If you already have a design, we can price and install from it. We then install the system under our TCEQ OSSF installer license OS0031132, coordinate the county inspections and finish the site.

Steep Lots and Limited Access

Many Spring Branch homes are positioned for the view, which often means a steep driveway, a cut pad and little level ground. Before work begins, we plan how equipment will enter the site, where the tanks will be set from and where excavated material will go, so your driveway and neighboring property are protected.

Septic Permits for Spring Branch

Most of Spring Branch is in Comal County, where septic permits are issued by the county’s Environmental Health office. Some properties on the western edge fall within Kendall County, which administers its own permitting. Parts of the area also lie over Edwards Aquifer zones, which can add requirements. See the permit guide for more information.

Need the lot cleared as well? We clear cedar, cut pads and build driveways as part of the same project. See excavation and site work.

Spring Branch Septic FAQ

Spring Branch Septic Questions

Why does rock make septic more expensive?

Breaking limestone takes far longer than digging soil and places heavy wear on equipment. A tank excavation that takes an hour in soil can take most of a day in solid rock.

Can you install on a steep lot?

Yes. Steep lots are common in Spring Branch. The design accounts for the slope, and we plan equipment access and tank placement accordingly.

Who issues septic permits in Spring Branch?

Comal County Environmental Health for most of Spring Branch. Properties in Kendall County are permitted through Kendall County.
