Septic Installation in New Braunfels, TX
Our office is in New Braunfels, and for three decades we have installed septic systems on the acreage and new homes surrounding it. If your property is outside city sewer, we can install the system it requires and connect you with an engineer for the design.
Septic Systems Beyond City Sewer
Most homes inside New Braunfels connect to city sewer. Beyond that service area, on acreage along the county roads, in newer subdivisions at the edge of town and on the land between New Braunfels and Canyon Lake, properties rely on septic. That is where most of our New Braunfels work takes place.
Soil conditions vary considerably across the area. East of town, toward the blackland, soils are deeper and heavier, and a conventional system is sometimes possible. West and north of town, as the land rises into the Hill Country, thin soil over limestone is the norm and most designs call for an aerobic system. Heavy clay presents its own challenge: it drains slowly, so drainfields must be carefully sized and laid out.

Septic Permits in Comal and Guadalupe Counties
New Braunfels lies in two counties. On the Comal County side, septic permits are issued by the Environmental Health office at the Comal County Engineer’s Office on David Jonas Drive. On the Guadalupe County side, permits come from Guadalupe County. The process is the same in both: a site evaluation by a licensed site evaluator, a design prepared by a registered sanitarian or professional engineer, county approval, installation and inspection. We work closely with an engineer we have a great relationship with and will put you in contact with them through our septic design and engineer referral service. The engineer handles the evaluation and design and guides you through the process. If you already have a design, we can price and install from it. We then install the system under our TCEQ OSSF installer license OS0031132, coordinate the county inspections and finish the site. The permit guide covers the details.
Commercial property? Commercial septic systems are sized according to expected daily flow, and larger systems involve higher permit fees and more design work. Contact us early in planning and we will help you build an accurate budget.
Commercial Septic in New Braunfels
Growth along the highways around New Braunfels has placed many businesses on land without sewer service. We have installed multi-tank aerobic systems with large drip fields for commercial buildings, coordinating with the general contractor so the septic work is complete before the parking lot is paved.
New Braunfels Septic FAQ
New Braunfels Septic Questions
Do I need septic if I’m in New Braunfels?
Not if your property is served by city sewer. If it is not, which is common outside city limits and on acreage, you will need an on-site septic system.
Can I get a conventional system in New Braunfels?
In some cases, particularly east of town where the soil is deeper. The site evaluation, handled by the engineer we refer you to, determines what your lot will support. Closer to the Hill Country, aerobic systems are more common.
Who issues septic permits for New Braunfels?
Comal County Environmental Health for property on the Comal County side, and Guadalupe County for property on the Guadalupe side of the line.
